Brandon Horrocks,
Music Director

In the Salt Lake community, Brandon has been officially appointed as the Music Director, Conductor for the 2021-22 season of the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra. Prior to this season he was the Interim Music Director. Brandon was also named Music Director, Conductor for the Wasatch Symphony Orchestra, starting this season.

 

Additionally, Brandon is the Assistant Conductor for the West Jordan Symphony and was appointed as the Assistant Conductor for the Salt Lake Symphony for Spring/Summer of 2021. In the choral world, he is a choir section leader with the Cathedral of the Madeleine Choir in Salt Lake City and works at the Madeleine Choir School as an adjunct teacher for Music History and Choir classes.

 

At the University of Utah, Brandon serves as an Assistant Graduate Conductor of the Campus Symphony and the University of Utah Philharmonia. He also works as the Orchestra Librarian for the University orchestras. Starting in August 2021 he will begin doctoral studies in orchestral conducting (DMA).

Brandon holds a Master's Degree in Orchestral Conducting and Bachelor’s of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Utah where he studies conducting with Dr. Robert Baldwin. He studied voice and opera with Dr. David Power and Dr. Robert Breault.  Brandon continues to be an active choral singer and has performed with Utah Chamber Artists, Salt Lake Choral Artists, La Jolla Symphony and Chorus, and San Diego Master Chorale.

 

Brandon is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
