The Utah Philharmonic Orchestra

The Mission of the

Utah Philharmonic Orchestra

We're a community orchestra dedicated to bringing great music to Utah and Salt Lake counties. From classical masterworks to movie music, we want to provide a positive environment for musicians to play together and audiences to connect.

Upcoming Concerts

Through patriotic and civic celebrations, cultural arts festivals, and side-by-side concerts, the orchestra gives performances in four to six municipalities each season.

The crown jewel of the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra is the annual concerto competition. This is the only state-wide competition open to all ages and all instruments. The competition is held in February and the winners from each age category perform as soloists at the final season concert.

The 2020 competition will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at American Preparatory Academy in West Valley, Utah. Registration is now open and will continue through January 14, 2020. Late entries received on January 15, 2019 through Saturday, February 1, 2019, will be considered, and may be accepted based on contest time-slot availability. Late entries will incur an additional $10.00 late fee.
